I have worked for many years as a psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist in mental health and trauma treatment settings. I currently hold a senior role at Alfred Health working with young people with mental health difficulties and intellectual disability.
I have undertaken further training in psychoanalysis and psychodynamic psychotherapy. These modalities work with the deeper sources of suffering, rather than symptoms alone. They can be particularly well-suited to people who may have more longstanding problems of living and relating, or who have tried other therapies.
In the initial sessions, I will seek to hear about what brings you to therapy, as well as your current circumstances and history, following which we can discuss an approach to our work together. Therapy comprises a particular way of speaking and listening that seeks, over time, to have an effect on suffering and to establish a more solid inner foundation for life.
